with his colleague they went to Pier 5 and muzzled and killed a mutant in order to take his finger; it had a Ring that opened the gate to the Rat's Den. The two then separated and he went to the Temple, while the other went to the Shop to sell the finger.
It is possible that he is the same person as the one killed on Day 3 who possessed the Ring.
