This slave worked underground for the Orbs. While underground, he has learned the code to activate one of the Orbs' drilling machines in Freedom, and has tattooed it on his hand.
He was rescued from the Transamerica Pyramid by two members of the Dragon Clan and was taken to the Doctor's House to recover. While there however the manic killer Phil Cook paid a random visit and killed both him and the Doctor. A mutant who accompanied Cook teared off the slave's arm and took it with him (the one on which the slave wrote the code to the Orbs' tunnelling machine).
The mutant took the slave's severed arm with him to the Private Club in order to use it as a prize.
The next day, the Manhunter entered the Club disguised as a mutant and got possession of the arm and the code tattooed on it.
